Last week of claim intake is approaching:
Deadline for submission of claims to KPA is 3 December 2007
Anyone who lost possession of their private immovable property in Kosovo as a result of the 1998-1999 conflict may submit a claim to the Kosovo Property Agency until (and including) 3 December 2007. After this day the claim intake operations will be closed down. The deadline has been set by the Special Representative of the Secretary General in Kosovo through the promulgation of Administrative Direction 2007/5.
The Kosovo Property Agency (KPA) was established on 4 March 2006 and has, subject to appeal to the Supreme Court of Kosovo, exclusive jurisdiction to resolve claims for private immovable property (including commercial properties and agricultural land) arising from the armed conflict in 1998-1999.
The 32,976 claims submitted to the KPA thus far includes claims for:
2,307 residential properties;
936 commercial properties ; and
29,733 agricultural properties
